Education

South Tyneside Council's Housing Renewal Team and NomadE5 have been working with Ridgeway Primary School and South Shields Community School to design an educational toolkit and character mascot named Speedy.

Speedy and his toolkit is a free resource for Primary Schools or community groups to use in the region.

The toolkit has been designed with specific regeneration themes in mind such as, the community, healthly lifestyles, the future and communication, as well as having sections dedicated to rewarding children and getting to know their friend Speedy, the friendly character mascot.

Speedy will help the children understand some of the key regeneration messages within the toolkit in an interesting and fun way. Speedy and his toolkit was launched on the 6 July 2009 at a special event at the Customs House in South Shields.
